The Care Supervisor position is suitable for someone who has experience in domiciliary care work in the community and is looking to upgrade to a supervisor and management level in the home care sector.
At Bright Dawn Home Care, the Care Supervisor is responsible for supervising clients and Care Assistants within the Solihull Borough and surrounding areas. The role requires the Care Supervisor to ensure that all our clients are receiving their care and support in a dignified and professional manner, throughout the duration of the service.
The Care Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Care Assistants and ensuring that they are providing the quality of care that Bright Dawn Home Care prides itself in. The Care Supervisor will work alongside the Deputy Manager to plan the service effectively; the role also includes holding regular team meetings to discuss the Care Assistants, induction, progress and training.
The position of the Care Supervisor is fundamental to Bright Dawn Home Care providing a quality and professional service to both clients and the care staff.
Job Description- Answer each incoming call in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner whilst on call.
- Responsible for implementing field-based quality control systems and providing support to all Care Assistants within the Solihull Borough and surrounding areas.
- To attend Office Team Meetings.
- To notify the office as required should the client’s care needs change prior to the required reassessment.
- To provide care when absences due to Care Assistants being off sick or cannot provide care due to unforeseen circumstances or holiday.
- To have the on-call phone and participate in an on-call rota. During this time identify suitable Care Assistants to cover for any absences, due to sickness or holiday and allocate them to the calls. Notify the office of the absences in handover.
- To liaise closely with the Deputy Managers regarding spot checks and quality assurance checks.
- To facilitate the practical induction/shadowing of all new Care Assistants.
- To provide and facilitate in-field training as and when appropriate to Care Assistants.
- To identify any additional training needs of Care Assistants from spot checks and report to the office accordingly.
- To report any changes in a client’s schedule to the office immediately.
- Audit MAR Charts electronically monthly.
- To monitor, supervise and mentor all Care Assistants in the field and to offer support.
- To ensure that all written reports and administration for the role are kept up to date.
- To maintain close liaison with the Deputy Care Manager.
- To email an on-call handover to the relevant managers by 9.30am every morning when on call.
- Monitor Clients medication and report any changes to medication to the office as soon as possible.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times for all Bright Dawn Care Home information, including client, Care Assistant and office data.
- Maintain the ethos and standards of the company at all times.
Will need an NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care.
