The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity on a full-time permanent basis for Mooring Operatives based in and around the Port of Liverpool. You must be flexible with working hours and shift work, as well as having a positive can-do attitude with a desire to succeed in a challenging environment.
Principal Responsibilities
- Mooring and unmooring vessels in accordance with safe working practices, under the direction of vessel pilots or crew members.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors, colleagues and other stakeholders, to provide an effective and professional service.
- Operating a handheld VHF radio, for communicating with colleagues or vessels.
- Driving a company vehicle (for the purpose of transporting yourself and other work colleagues to work sites).
- Deploying, monitoring and dismantling Shore Tension equipment.
- Provide bridge operation and assistance when required (for the two bridges at Birkenhead).
- Be a member of the gig-boat crew during operations, both within the Port and at Tranmere Oil Terminal.
