The Role
In this role, you will support the Technical Manager in ensuring the safe operation of vessels within the Pilot Boat Service contract. This will include the maintenance and repair of all engineering, electrical and hull systems and equipment on pilot boats, gig boats, oil spill response vessels and survey boats. You will be required to provide out-of-hours cover as needed to support operational requirements.
Principal Responsibilities
- Carry out the responsibilities of the Duty Engineer, providing out-of-hours cover for the Pilot Boat Service on a duty rota basis.
- Complete assigned tasks relating to the planned maintenance schedule.
- Assist with the maintenance of the inventory of mechanical and electrical spares, as directed by the Technical Manager.
- Maintain and retain engineering checklists as directed by the Technical Manager.
The Candidate
You must have served time as a Marine Engineer, Plant Engineer, 4th Engineer or equivalent. You must be flexible with working hours as there will be an on-call rota with availability required every third week. You must have a full UK Driving License. You must be within 1 hour commuting distance of Marine Base, Liverpool.
