The Role involves delivering complex offshore projects across the UK and North West Europe, with a primary focus on subsea cable installation and repair. You will oversee vessel operations, offshore teams, subcontractors, and client relationships, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution within the Subsea Services division at Briggs Marine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offshore project delivery — Lead the planning and execution of subsea cable installation and repair projects, coordinating offshore teams, vessels, and key subcontractors.
  • Operational leadership — Manage and develop the offshore operations team, maintain competency matrices, and mentor staff to build capability and experience.
  • Technical governance — Produce and maintain departmental procedures, method statements, and operational documentation for marine installation and repair activities.
  • Subcontractor management — Manage critical subcontractors and develop long-term strategic partnerships that support reliable offshore project delivery.
  • Tender & commercial support — Provide technical input during tender development to identify safe, economical, and effective installation methodologies.
  • Client interface — Act as a key point of contact for existing and prospective subsea clients, ensuring strong communication and alignment throughout project lifecycles.
  • HSE leadership — Champion Health, Safety, and Environmental performance, modelling best practice and ensuring full compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Continuous improvement — Identify and promote opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance operational performance without compromising safety or quality.

The Candidate should have an engineering degree (marine, mechanical, electrical, civil, or related discipline) and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in subsea cables, offshore construction, or marine operations. A strong project management background within subsea cable or offshore wind sectors is essential, along with excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of vessel operations and offshore project logistics.
