The Role involves assisting the Operations Manager and Technical Supervisor in the provision of effective maintenance of all boats equipment and systems, promoting the safe operation of allocated vessels. This includes the maintenance and repair of all engineering, electrical, and hull systems and equipment on all allocated vessels, providing occasional out of hours cover when required.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Assist the Technical Supervisor to provide effective maintenance of all the boats equipment and systems, promoting safe operation.
  • Maintenance and repair of engineering, electrical, and hull systems and equipment on all allocated vessels and associated assets.
  • Deputise for the Technical Supervisor, as directed, during periods of leave and absence.
  • Maintain and retain engineering checklists as directed by the Technical Supervisor.
  • Fulfil all requirements as required under the planned maintenance schedule.
  • Provide technical guidance to operational crews when identifying shortcomings to ensure good working practices are maintained.
  • Undertake any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Technical Supervisor/Technical Lead, where trained to do so, including at other sites.
Required skills/knowledge
  • Time served Marine Engineer / Plant Engineer, 3rd Engineer or equivalent.
  • Previous experience of Marine Planned Maintenance Systems or similar.
  • Understanding of Safety Management Systems including compliance with legislation and experience in the management of Risk Assessments, Permit to Work and safe systems of Work.
  • City and Guilds, ONC, HNC, BTEC or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
  • Full, clean manual driving licence.
