The Role

To assist with the company's representative with the safe operation of the vessel, the welfare of the crew and passengers, and protection of the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake immediate action in the event of emergencies or malfunctions in accordance with operating procedures, including, where required, the use of lifesaving appliances or firefighting equipment.
  • Carry out the safe mooring and unmooring of vessels.
  • Report any damage to the vessel, personal injuries to crew members, and any environmental incidents.
  • Assist with routine vessel maintenance.
  • Provide reports, as required, prior to the end of each shift.
  • Assist with the fuelling of vessels in line with environmental protection considerations.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company Safety Management System.

  • Previous practical hands-on experience on board a similar vessel

  • STCW Basic Fire prevention and Firefighting
  • STCW Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities
  • STCW Elementary first aid
