The Role involves maintaining and repairing a diverse range of electrical and mechanical equipment, playing a vital part in our innovative subsea cables division.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Be a key part of the engineering maintenance that goes into maintaining and repairing cable handling equipment.
  • Assist in the mobilisation and demobilisation of cable equipment for off-shore projects.
  • Ensure safe working practices are always followed.
  • Complete periodic and condition-based maintenance, including premobilisation checks on equipment.
  • Log all maintenance records on the system.
  • Troubleshoot on electrical/mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Inspect and overhaul valves, motors, pumps and other hydraulic components.
  • Maintain housekeeping in the workshop and ensure all work areas are clean and tidy.
  • Safely operate machinery, hand tools, lifting equipment and ensure job materials and equipment are correctly used.
  • Provide input into the specification of new equipment from a maintenance and operational point of view.
  • Report any problems or questions to the Production Manager.
  • Provide guidance to apprentices in the department and mentor them on their apprenticeship pathway.
Required skills/knowledge:
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Time served/significant experience in a Mechanical / Electrical technician role.
  • Hydraulic fault finding.
