The Role
To work in Port Service Operations which will include but not limited to checking in, reservations, sales and administration, Marshalling and directing of all traffic for loading and discharge at various locations both in and around the Port of Dover. Freight and passenger check in. Checking of IMDG cargo. Vessel Husbandry inc. forklift operations
Responsibilities:
- Communicating effectively with Managers, Team Leaders, colleagues, and other stakeholders, to provide an effective and professional service.
- To be fully conversant with all Irish ferries’ IT procedures and processes
- To be fully compliant with all company and Port of Dover (PODSOP) procedures
- Work as directed, by Managers, Team Leaders regarding other port operations as may be required.
- Operating a hand-held VHF radio, for communicating with colleagues or vessels.
- Driving a company vehicle, for the purpose of transporting yourself and other work colleagues to a work site.
- Marshall and direct traffic for loading, discharge, and waiting areas.
- Assist in Baggage handling requirements for foot passengers.
- Operate check in facilities for both Passenger and freight booths.
- To deploy, monitor and empty Garbage facilities.
- Passenger and freight terminal operations
- Carry out any other duties deemed appropriate by the management, at any other Briggs sites.
- Be competent in the use of all company client IT systems and hardware.
