The Role involves assisting with the safe operation of the vessel, the welfare of the crew and passengers, and protection of the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake immediate action in the event of emergencies or malfunctions in accordance with operating procedures, including the use of lifesaving appliances or firefighting equipment.
- Carry out the safe mooring and unmooring of vessels.
- Report any damage to the vessel, personal injuries to crew members, and any environmental incidents.
- Assist with routine vessel maintenance.
- Provide reports, as required, prior to the end of each shift.
- Assist with the fuelling of vessels in line with environmental protection considerations.
- Ensure compliance with the Company Safety Management System.
The Candidate:
- Previous practical hands-on experience on board a similar vessel.
- AB certificate STCW.
- Personal Survival Techniques STCW.
- Basic Fire Prevention and Firefighting STCW.
- Personal Safety STCW.
