The Role
We are excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a technician to join our Aids to Navigation team located at our Burntisland facility. In this position, you will assume a critical role in responding to outages, conducting maintenance tasks, and executing installations of Aids to Navigation (AtoN) and associated equipment. Initially, this role will serve as a Trainee position, with the duration contingent upon your experience, aimed at providing a comprehensive understanding of the (AtoN) and Moorings.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with and learn from Senior AtoN Technicians.
- Undertake installation, scheduled inspections, repairs and maintenance shore side and floating AtoN and mooring systems.
- Complete documentation & reports associated with work and task.
- Respond to AtoN outages and faults to meet company/client requirements.
- Ensure all activities are delivered within agreed time scales.
- Pilot fast response vessel and maintain equipment to code standards, all training provided.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders.
- Inspect, test and report on AtoN equipment and hardware.
- Undertake quality assurance checks on buoys and equipment.
- Work within a Safe System of Work (SSOW).
The Candidate
Flexibility in working hours and the capability to work away from home when necessary to accommodate business requirements are vital aspects of this role. A full UK driving licence is a prerequisite. The successful candidate will have background in a marine workboat or technical environment & hold a relevant qualification or demonstrate competence. Holding a current ENG1 Medical or being able to pass this is prerequisite.
