We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven

Sales Director to lead and develop our sales function across the North and South of England.

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering profitable growth, strengthening customer relationships, and driving sales excellence across the business.

  • The Impact You Will Have
  • Champion all aspects of Health & Safety, ensuring company policies, procedures and initiatives are consistently followed.
  • Lead, coach and mentor the sales team to achieve individual and collective targets through regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and development plans.
  • Ensure the right product and service solutions are available to meet customer requirements.
  • Set, measure and monitor key performance indicators, sales targets and activity metrics for direct reports, providing accurate reporting to senior leadership.
  • Define and deliver overall business sales targets, coordinating sales pipelines and forecasting activities across the team.
  • Make sound commercial decisions that support long-term profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Collaborate with Briggs Equipment UK businesses and key partners to maximise commercial opportunities and customer value.
  • Identify skills gaps within the sales function and implement targeted training and development initiatives.
  • Build strong working relationships across the wider business, fostering a collaborative and customer-focused culture.
  • Drive sales growth across the full product and service portfolio, including New Equipment, Short and Long-Term Rental, Service Contracts and Used Equipment.
  • Develop and expand used equipment sales channels to maximise revenue and margin opportunities.
  • Ensure effective utilisation of CRM systems to maintain data integrity, support territory management and accurate sales reporting.
  • Contribute to overall business strategy, operational development and P&L performance as a member of the leadership team.
  • Personally manage and develop key customer accounts, building long-term partnerships and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Lead the Net Promoter Score (NPS) programme, driving continuous improvement and best-in-class customer engagement.

  • Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, preferably within materials handling, capital equipment, fleet, rental, engineering or a related sector.
  • Exceptional customer relationship management skills with a track record of developing strategic partnerships.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of asset lifecycle management.
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrable leadership capability with experience building, developing and motivating successful sales teams.
  • Experience managing sales performance through data, KPIs, forecasting and CRM systems.
  • A strong commitment to promoting a positive Health & Safety culture across all business activities.
