The Opportunity: Workshop Support Engineer
Contract: Permanent
Location: Cannock
The Briggs Equipment Group is a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland.
The Impact you will have:
- Deliver hands on manual assistance to all engineers predominately in the workshop but also on customer sites as required.
- Follow instructions from engineers, ensuring safety is the top priority.
- Prepare trucks for hand painting (no spraying) and paint to the standard requested (A,B,C grade).
- Assist with the preparation and ongoing maintenance of the 5S program, a methodology that results in a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity.
- With suitable basic training, carry out pre delivery and off hire inspections.
- With suitable training, carry out basic servicing/inspections.
- Carry out PAT testing of electrical equipment (chargers and tools).
- Pressure wash equipment in preparation for repair commencement.
- Load/unload parts/equipment (not trucks) ensuring all relevant paperwork is present and correct prior to acceptance/uplift of goods, and liaise through workshop manager/team leader with other departments.
- Ensure yard security is maintained at all times.
- Deliver/uplift parts from/to suppliers, engineers and sub-contractors as and when required.
- Other workshop and field based duties commensurate with the role as directed.
- Adopt a safety first attitude to all tasks.
What will help you to excel in this role:
- Accredited mechanical/electrical trade technical apprentice or equivalent.
- Substantial experience of oral and written communication.
- PC Skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, email & internet) - desirable.
- Knowledge of H&S, Environmental and Quality policy awareness & commitment.
