Opportunity: Commercial Vehicle Fleet Controller

Contract: Permanent

Location: Lisburn

Hours: 40 hours (Monday – Friday)

The Briggs Equipment Group is a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across Ireland and the UK. We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and well-organised Commercial Vehicle Fleet Controller to join our Commercial Vehicle hire team based in Lisburn to be an integral part of the team providing administrative support and customer service.

In this role you will be:

  • Manage a commercial vehicle hire fleet, including panel vans, welfare vans and box vans, ensuring vehicles are ready for hire.
  • Conduct vehicle delivery and collection inspections and report defects, warning lights, service requirements and wear and tear for workshop attention.
  • Coordinate repairs, servicing and aftersales requirements, liaising with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Support the Commercial Vehicle BDM with day-to-day administration and maintain accuracy throughout the hire process.
  • Process vehicle hires, track customer allocations, generate invoices and monitor fleet availability.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records, commercial vehicle files and all associated documentation.
  • Track vehicle orders, order new vehicles and liaise with suppliers from order placement through to delivery.
  • Raise purchase orders and process supplier invoices.
  • Prepare and manage documentation for vehicle taxation and MOT requirements.
  • Verify hirers hold valid driving licences and adequate insurance cover.
  • Respond to customer queries and coordinate resolutions with relevant teams and suppliers.
  • Process insurance claims fairly and efficiently for both customers and the business.
  • Support audits by providing accurate asset records and vehicle documentation.
  • Facilitate customer hire requirements outside normal business hours, including overtime where required.

  • Previous experience within an administrative role
  • Good understanding of Commercial Vehicle Hire (Desirable)
  • Good IT skills and strong Excel knowledge
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work on own initiative.
