The Opportunity: HGV Driver Category C+E
Contract: Permanent
Location: Haydock
The Briggs Equipment Group is a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland.
The Impact you will have:
- Deliver high standards of service delivery to Briggs customers.
- Follow transport plan as provided by the transport planning team – Microlise / Ortec.
- Requirement to work out of hours and overnight stays including working from other Briggs locations when required.
- Adhering to all transport legislation – current and future.
- Daily defect reporting of vehicle defects using mobile compliance application – (Convey).
- Accurate record keeping and use of Tachograph.
- Responsible for obtaining signed POD / POC by means of Smart POD application and/or transport documents.
- Responsible for self-loading of vehicle by means of drive on/drive off of equipment.
- Responsible for securing of load by means of ratchet straps, chains etc. to ensure goods are transported safely.
- Responsible for checking equipment to be loaded aligns with transport documentation/mobile work device, reporting any discrepancies to line manager/transport planner.
- Responsible for identifying damaged goods and/or missing items on delivery or collection, recording of details on transport documentation/mobile device.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean workspace (vehicle cab and trailer).
- Responsible for reporting of all incidents – ensure Briggs and legislative policies are followed.
- Contacting customers prior to arrival by means of mobile communications.
- Carry out other duties when required within skill set.
What will help you to excel in this role:
- The need of a Class C+E driving license & Driver CPC Training.
- Extensive experience working in a similar role.
- Counterbalance FLT B1, Counterbalance FLT B2, B3.
- Ideally experience in the loading/unloading of plant, FLT's or aerial access equipment.
