The Opportunity: PDI Engineer
Contract: Permanent
Location: Dewsbury
Forkway are one of the UK's leading materials handling solutions providers with around 100 employees across three Handling Centres and a number of strategic service centres.
The Impact you will have:
- Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI): Conducting comprehensive inspections of new and refurbished equipment to ensure it meets safety, performance, and quality standards.
- Maintenance & Repair: Performing routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on diesel, LPG, and electric powered access/material handling equipment.
- Fault Finding: Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults to ensure equipment is in top condition.
- Documentation: Accurately completing job sheets, PDI checklists, and, if applicable, electronic service documentation to report on equipment status.
- Compliance & Safety: Following all health and safety regulations, including conducting, and documenting, safety checks.
- Stock & Asset Management: Assisting with fleet stock checks and managing parts required for repairs.
What will help you to excel in this role:
- Proven experience working on cars, forklifts, plant equipment, cleaning machines, or HGVs.
- Qualifications: Relevant engineering qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering are typically required.
- Technical Understanding: Solid knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical principles.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work within a team and interact with other departments.
- Organisation: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and time-critical environment.
