The assistant planner is responsible for assisting with the development, monitoring, and maintenance of project schedules for complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) building services projects. The role ensures that programmes are realistic, efficient, and aligned with contractual requirements, client expectations, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Planning Manager.
- A basic to good knowledge of construction processes from Pre-Construction, Construction, Testing and Commissioning coupled with training and development for the candidate to produce full end to end programmes.
- Accurately record all progress of the works coupled with training and development to enable the candidate to analyse the critical path and advise the project teams of critical and near critical actions.
- Show a basic to good understanding of contract terms and requirements with a willingness to learn to ensure the baseline programme and any revisions of the programme are compliant.
- Support all functions of the business from Pre-Construction and Construction and be able to work in a team environment on and off site, and liaise with client teams.
- Provide concise reports in line with the company reporting structure.
Requirements
- Ideally qualified in either planning or management or hold qualifications HNC/HND or Degree in Building Services or equivalent, with a good understanding of building services.
- Able to use Asta Powerproject to a basic or good level.
Package
- Negotiable salary depending on level of experience.
- 25 days holiday (up to 30 days with service) plus bank holidays.
