Purpose of the Role: The Group OEM & Body Builder Programme Manager drives strategic partnerships, managing the full lifecycle of safety solutions products designed for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) from concept to launch. Serving as the primary contact, bridging internal Group and subsidiary stakeholder teams in managed markets with external OEM and Bodybuilder customers to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, profitability, and long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship & Account Management: Cultivate high-level relationships with OEM partners and act as the primary contact for performance, status updates, and issue escalation.
  • Programme Execution: Lead multiple programmes from concept through to an engineering release through workstreams within the gate board process for customer selected options and production line fit standardisation.
  • Business Development: Drive business growth by identifying new OEM and Body builder opportunities primarily but not limited to “unmanaged markets” (International territories), beginning with market sizing using supplied market intelligence data and supported by the Group Commercial Analyst.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop business plans to ensure programme compliance with customer requirements, quality targets, and contractual obligations.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate engineering, commercial, operations, and procurement teams to drive project deliverables and gate adherence within a RACI framework.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs, manage budgets and forecasting, and implement improvement plans to exceed targets.
  • Change Management: Assess and approve change requests and lead commercial negotiations.

Person Specification:

  • Experience: Proven experience in OEM account management, programme/project management, or technical roles, particularly in industries like Automotive or Aerospace.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of engineering, manufacturing processes, and product development lifecycles.
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent level qualification and demonstrable commercial experience (5 years+), with a deep understanding of engineering and supply chain disciplines.
  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills to interact with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work independently.
  • Tools: Proficient in sales and CRM/ERP systems (Business Central, Phocas) and project management tools (Microsoft Project, PLM, Monday.com).
  • Decision-making skills: Especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility: To adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: In planning, execution, and follow-through.
  • Proven Track Record: Of achieving and exceeding goals and objectives.
  • Flexibility: To work beyond normal business hours when required.
