They have strong staff retention and maintain a culture of promoting from within. As an employee-owned business, they are collectively working together to achieve success with employee sharing in that success.

Originally based in the Northeast, they have successfully opened a second office in Yorkshire where they are going from strength to strength delivering fitout projects across the heritage, education and local government sectors. Clients include Universities, Local Authorities, English Heritage and Private developers. Projects involve modernising historic buildings and repurposing them to enhance their value for customers.

To sustain their growing workload, they are keen to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to their senior management team in Yorkshire to lead across multiple projects, producing and managing complex programmes, manage a direct workforce and subcontractors, contribute to work planning, briefing project teams, contractors and suppliers, attending project meetings, produce progress reports, forecast works and manage project documentation. You will be involved with projects from inception in order for you to take full ownership of delivery. There will be a variety of projects to deliver across the entire Yorkshire region so travelling will be a requirement though overnight stops are infrequent.

Experience required

The projects are typically JCT and require the production of complex multi trade programmes. You need to be able to demonstrate initiative, be able to work to strict deadlines, good business acumen, be solutions focused, have a right first-time attitude, and maximise job opportunities. You need to demonstrate that you can manage multiple projects at any one time, that you can skilfully solve problematic projects and are flexible to change whether it be in the design or the construction programme.

Progression

There are aspirations for the company to continue to grow with lots of opportunities to be developed within the sector. You’ll be actively encouraged to build your network with the view to winning other projects. The role comes with a competitive salary, performance related bonuses, company car and pension.
