Company & Role
Brierley J are retained by a leading conservation and restoration contractor who are looking to appoint a Contracts Manager. Originally based in the Northeast, they have successfully opened a second office in Yorkshire where they are going from strength to strength delivering fitout projects across the heritage, education and local government sectors. Clients include Universities, Local Authorities, English Heritage and Private developers. Projects involve modernising historic buildings and repurposing them to enhance their value for customers.
To sustain their growing workload, they are keen to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to their senior management team in Yorkshire to lead across multiple projects, producing and managing complex programmes, managing a direct workforce and subcontractors, contributing to work planning, briefing project teams, contractors and suppliers, attending project meetings, producing progress reports, forecasting works and managing project documentation.
You will be involved with projects from inception in order for you to take full ownership of delivery. There will be a variety of projects to deliver across the entire Yorkshire region so travelling will be a requirement though overnight stops are infrequent.
They are looking for someone who has around five years’ experience in a Contracts Manager capacity for a main contractor or within a specialist field managing projects between £100K - £8 million. The projects are typically JCT and require the production of complex multi-trade programmes.
You need to demonstrate that you can manage multiple projects at any one time, that you can skilfully solve problematic projects and are flexible to change whether it be in the design or the construction programme.
You’ll be actively encouraged to build your network with the view to winning other projects. The role comes with a competitive salary, performance-related bonuses, company car and pension.
