A Global Law firm in London are seeking a mid-level Associate with a minimum of 4PQE to join their growing Employment team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with the Partners, whilst they establish and grow the Employment team in London. More specifically, this position will involve corporate support and advisory work across a broad range of transactional employment matters. This could encompass the employment aspects of cross-border mergers and acquisitions, workforce restructurings, employee relations, recruitment and severance matters. The role will also involve acting on workforce classification and restriction covenants.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in corporate support and advisory work, ideally with some experience in advising leading global corporations within the Finance and Technology sectors, as well as high-growth startups.
Main responsibilities will include advising in connection with:
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, consultancy agreements and employment policies and handbooks.
- Drafting and negotiating settlement agreements.
- Misclassification issues and general UK start-up issues for early-stage companies.
- Individual and collective redundancy exercises.
- Disciplinary and grievance issues.
- The conduct of employment due diligence on corporate transactions and the drafting, mark-up and negotiation of employment warranties and indemnities as needed.
Requirements: Previous exposure to a broad range of transactional and advisory employment matters.
