Responsibilities
- Lead, implement, and continuously improve the site Food Safety & Quality Management System in line with BRCGS, legal, and customer requirements.
- Act as the site lead for BRCGS audits, including preparation, coordination, audit delivery, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all food safety legislation, customer standards, and internal policies.
- Manage, coach, and develop the Quality Team, ensuring effective coverage across all shifts where applicable.
- Oversee HACCP, food safety plans, risk assessments, and prerequisite programmes, including GMP, hygiene, allergen control, and traceability.
- Promote and drive a strong food safety and quality culture through training, engagement, and visible leadership across the site.
- Lead internal audits, factory inspections, and management reviews, ensuring actions are completed, verified, and closed out effectively.
- Manage non-conformances, customer complaints, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Support new product development and process changes, ensuring quality and food safety are embedded from concept through to launch.
- Monitor key quality KPIs, report performance, and deliver clear, structured improvement plans.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities as required.
