Part time 27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days). Salary: BTCT Band 3b, point 4. Actual starting salary: £15,959.23 per annum - Permanent. Maiden Beech Academy converted to a Primary School in September 2022 and is a part of the Bridgwater and Taunton College Trust. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our committed team, supporting our mission to put children first and help them achieve their full potential.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other education professionals to support pupils' learning, development, and well-being. You will be integral in promoting independence, self-esteem, and inclusion within the classroom and school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted support to pupils to help them access the curriculum and reach learning milestones.
- Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans.
- Foster positive relationships with children, promoting engagement and self-confidence.
- Collaborate with teachers to deliver enriching and inclusive learning experiences.
- Support behaviour management strategies and help maintain a safe, respectful environment.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support children’s progress.
- Embrace safeguarding and promote the welfare of all students.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to children and adults.
- A positive approach to learning and development.
Desirable:
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ3, HND, degree).
- Experience in a school or education setting.
- Working knowledge of the national curriculum and supporting SEN pupils.
