Bridgwater College Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. Putting students first is part of our fundamental culture. Part Time, 27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term time, plus INSET days). Actual salary: £15,712.69 per annum. Permanent.

About the role:

  • Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating in learning activities.
  • Promote independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual education and behaviour plans.
  • Provide feedback to pupils and contribute to progress records.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
  • Support the use of ICT and help prepare resources for lessons.
  • Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection standards.

What we’re looking for:

  • Have a good level of literacy and numeracy (GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths).
  • Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) or have equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and ICT skills.
  • Are confident, well-organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Have experience working with children in an educational setting.
