Cover Supervisor
West Somerset College is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our supportive and dynamic team.
This role is vital in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences, supporting students from Year 9 to Year 11, and contributing to the wider life of the school.
Actual Starting Salary
£9,125.95.
Contractual Hours
15 hours per week over 39 weeks per year.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during short‑term teacher absences, ensuring a calm and productive learning environment.
- Deliver pre‑set lesson instructions and maintain pupil engagement and behaviour.
- Respond to general student queries and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Support with exam invigilation and accompany students on educational visits.
- Provide administrative and pastoral support when not supervising lessons.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Assist with classroom displays and curriculum‑related admin tasks.
