Bridgwater College Academy is looking for a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our friendly Premises team. If you have a green thumb, a great work ethic, and enjoy working in beautiful surroundings that support young people’s education, we’d love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Maintaining school grounds to a high standard: mowing, hedge cutting, pruning, planting, and general upkeep.
- Using a range of grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Keeping storage areas tidy and tools well maintained.
- Supporting the delivery of safe, accessible, and beautiful outdoor spaces for students and staff.
- Following environmental and health & safety policies while performing all duties.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture or landscaping.
- A team player with a positive, can‑do attitude.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weathers.
- Enthusiasm for maintaining green spaces and sports pitches.
- Understanding of health & safety procedures and willingness to learn.
It’d Be Great If You Also Have:
- Horticulture or technical qualifications.
- Experience working in an educational or public setting.
- Familiarity with artificial turf maintenance or pesticide use (PA1/PA6).
- Full UK driving licence.
