Operations Planning Officer

Help plan and coordinate our Property & Environment services, monitor work and inspections, and work with residents, schools and community
\n groups to care for Bridgnorth’s public spaces.
\n
About Us:
\n Bridgnorth is an historic market town on the banks of the River Severn. The town currently has a population of 12,000 and acts as a centre for the rural area of eastern Shropshire.
\n
It has strong links with the nearby West Midlands conurbation and is a popular leisure destination. It is likely that there will be significant population growth in the wider area over the next decade.
\n
We are looking for a Operations Planning Officer to support the effective planning, co-ordination and monitoring of the Council’s Property & Environment operations and to promote positive community engagement with the Council’s environmental services.
\n
Some main duties of the role includes:
\n
- \n
- Prepare and maintain staff rotas, work schedules and forward work programmes, taking account of agreed service priorities, planned leave, training and operational requirements.
- Act as a central point for receiving and recording reported concerns, defects and service requests relating to Property & Environment services.
- Undertake regular inspections of Council-owned land, parks, open spaces, play areas, facilities and other assets in accordance with agreed inspection programmes
- Maintain the Property & Environment service training matrix, monitoring expiry and renewal dates and identifying forthcoming training requirements.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Council employees, Councillors, contractors, partner organisations and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have the following:
\n
- \n
- Experience of coordinating workloads, schedules, activities, projects or operational services
- Experience of using IT systems to maintain records, schedules and work information.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to coordinate a varied workload and respond effectively to changing priorities
- Full driving licence and ability to travel between Council sites
