Reporting to the Finance Manager your duties will consist of:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies in financial reporting processes.
- Coordinate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring adherence to reporting timelines and accuracy of financial information.
- Perform financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis to identify key drivers of financial performance and communicate insights to management.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data, validate assumptions, and provide inputs for financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
- Develop and maintain financial reporting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations, standards, and reporting requirements, and implement necessary adjustments in financial reporting processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system enhancements, automate financial reporting processes, and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
Essential to the role:
- A professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA is preferred.
Desirable:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and regulatory requirements.
- At least 3 years of experience in financial reporting to a Group and within the Company.
Skills:
- Proficiency in financial reporting tools and systems. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and provide insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Qualities:
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 36.25 hour week - Flexitime
