As a Production Operator you will ensure the safe production of all aluminium slabs in the Casthouse, conforming to the correct sizes and following the scheduled requirements from the Planning Department.
Responsibilities:
- Identify the different formats and purities of scrap to load into furnaces to provide the correct specification of molten aluminium required.
- Follow the ODSs to provide sufficient, clean, specified molten metal ready for casting the sizes of slabs in accordance with the schedule.
- Check identification and dimensions of slab to the required length conforming to the slab identification.
- Accurately record data on Computer system and production sheets.
- Participate with maintenance to improve machine reliability.
- Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized to a 6s standard.
Requirements:
- A minimum of two years experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of the production environment and ability to work to targets and deadlines.
- Advise on all downtime issues and requirements needed to ensure efficient production.
- Have a technical aptitude and be customer focused.
- Be able to work as part of a team and show initiative and a positive attitude.
Working hours: 42 hour over a four day shift pattern working two 12 hour days from 6am-6pm, two 12 hour nights from 6pm-6am followed by four rest days.
