The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 Β£ per year.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Negotiate favourable contracts, terms and prices with suppliers.
  • Provide commercial support to the Contract manager.
  • Manage the full procurement process from end to end.
  • Take full ownership leading contracts and categories you are assigned.
  • Manage contracts efficiently and strategically – lead commercial discussions, contract processes, and conduct regular reviews.
  • Lead categories by understanding requests, targeting the correct supplier selectively by identifying which suppliers can fulfil which type of requests, and ensure proper ownership of enquiries – no delegation to engineers of procurement tasks.
  • Conduct due diligence with suppliers before engagement - including verifying capabilities, compliance and performance history.
  • Ensure all deadlines are consistently met, including RFP/RFQ stages and out of contract situations are avoided.

Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs Grade A-C – English Language and Maths essential.
  • Strong proven experience as a Buyer.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experienced with ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced with supplier management and relationship building.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong commercial knowledge and contract management.
  • Strong understanding of legal compliance, and experience of reviewing, checking and understanding contracts/terms.
