Our experience with Network Rail PPS (Possession Planning System) enables the end to end process from planning through to possession delivery. Our specialist Railway Possession, AC/DC Isolations and Access Support Department possesses a wealth of experience and expertise, having worked on key projects across the UK rail network. With our multiskilled safety critical support team spread across the country we are exceptionally well placed to assign our personnel at locations where they have familiarity. This ensures that working times within possessions are maximised.

Current Vacancies

Rugby North West & Central, West Coast South. Full time, Permanent

Job Purpose To ensure the overall site safety whilst working on a possession. To ensure that the possession support staff are familiar with the work site and possession requirements.

Job Duties

Planning duties for the possessions allocated to the individual employee. Familiarisation with work sites and engineering tasks to be undertaken. Identification of blocking points. Tagging of blocking points. Attending site meetings. Contributing to risk assessments. Contributing to the development of contingency planning. Arranging for Possession Support Staff to undertake familiarisation with work site and possession requirements. Undertake refresher training. Undertake development training. Working under the direction of Network Rail or its successors representatives. Familiarise yourself with the Railway Geography of the areas in which you work. Undertake local training and familiarisation of Possession Support Staff. Comply with the training and other requirements of your Safety Responsibility Statement. Attend Possession Management / Site / Safety Critical / Planning meetings as required and requested. Assist with the development, coaching and mentoring of Safety Critical Staff. To carry out safety critical duties in accordance with competency certification held. Undertake other duties in accordance with the requirements of the company.

Key Requirements Holds PICOP or SPICOP. Applicants with a minimum 2 years experience within a possession management background may be considered for training. Experienced in Possession Support Duties. Holds IWA or COSS and able to work alone. Full UK manual driving license.
Desirable Route Knowledge of the West Coast Mainline

Predominantly working Saturday nights at the weekend! Overtime available for mid-week shifts! Contract is zero-hour - great for those looking to pick up additional work at the weekend or in the week!

Job Purpose When engineering maintenance is required on a section of track, a possession is taken to close the line to normal traffic providing protection for the workers. As a Possession Support worker, you will carry out duties under direction to assist the safe and efficient delivery of access to the railway infrastructure for engineering maintenance. You will use the necessary equipment and comply with the plans provided for delivering the safe access arrangements. Please note the majority of work will be during the night and you will be working alone.

Duties - To assist in Implementing arrangements - Support the movement of Engineering Trains - Comply with all relevant legislation and railway rules - Clearly communicate with the relevant individuals - Follow industry and company reporting procedures - Accurately complete the relevant documentation

Essential skills & requirements - Excellent communication skills - Confident working alone - Willingness to learn and develop with a drive to progress within the organisation - Right to work in the UK

Essential qualifications - Hold a full UK Driving Licence

Funded Skills Bootcamp Training For this role, you will be required to attend our 11-day training programme. Skills Bootcamp courses run monthly. The competencies you will achieve are: - Manual Handling - Full First Aid at Work - Personal Track Safety (PTS) - Possession Support (PS) - Individual Working Alone (IWA) - Working Near/Adjacent to DC Conductor Rails (DCCR) More information on training will be provided.
