A specialist renewables division within a national group of electrical distribution companies is looking for an ambitious Trainee Area Sales Manager to join their established team in Fareham. This is an exciting opportunity to launch a long-term career in sales with a market-leading business that invests heavily in the development of its people.

You’ll begin your journey in an Internal Sales role, learning about the company’s products, customers and operations while building relationships with businesses over the phone. As your knowledge and confidence grow, you’ll have the opportunity to progress into an Area Sales Manager position, managing your own customer accounts and developing business across your region.

You’ll be joining a successful electrical wholesaler that employs over 4,000 people across hundreds of UK locations. The renewables sector of the business is growing rapidly, with increasing demand for energy-efficient products and solutions. With an annual turnover exceeding £1.7 billion, the company continues to grow through strategic acquisitions and by delivering exceptional service to its customers. They pride themselves on their decentralised business model and the long-term relationships they build with customers, suppliers and employees.

Role Responsibilities

As a Trainee Area Sales Manager, you will:

  • Learn about the company’s products, customers and the electrical wholesale industry
  • Build relationships with new and existing B2B customers over the phone
  • Handle customer enquiries, prepare quotations and identify sales opportunities
  • Develop a strong understanding of the company’s electrical and renewable product range
  • Work closely with experienced colleagues who will mentor and support your development
  • Help achieve branch sales targets while developing the commercial skills needed for a future field sales role
  • Progress into an Area Sales Manager position once you’ve successfully completed your training

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm, plus Saturdays 8:30am – 11:00am (1 in 6).Requirements
