A specialist technical sales and distribution business is looking for a confident Account Manager to join their team in Cardiff. This is a varied role combining account management, customer service and some proactive sales activity, with the opportunity to build long-term relationships with a portfolio of customers.
You'll be joining a highly respected business that is part of a £1 billion turnover group, with an established reputation across the UK. The company specialises in HVAC, Electrical and Process Controls and Automation, supplying products that help regulate, monitor and measure energy, liquids and gases across a range of applications.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a sales background who is interested in developing their knowledge of technical products. You don't need to be highly technical already, a positive attitude, commercial approach and willingness to learn are more important.
Role Responsibilities
As an Account Manager, you will be:
- Managing and developing existing customer accounts
- Building strong, long-term relationships with customers
- Understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable products
- Handling customer enquiries, quotations and orders
- Identifying opportunities to increase sales within existing accounts
- Making some limited outbound calls
- Working with suppliers and internal teams to support customers
- Developing your knowledge of a specialist technical product range
Rewards
As an Account Manager, you will receive:
- A starting salary of £30,000 - £32,000
- An uncapped profit share bonus
- Membership of the company's excellent pension scheme
- Full internal training and supplier training days to build your product knowledge
- Opportunities to attend professional sales training courses
- A stable, permanent role within a successful and growing business
- A friendly, supportive and collaborative team environment
Requirements
We're looking for someone with previous sales or account management experience, ideally within wholesale, distribution or another B2B environment.
Technical sales experience would be advantageous, but isn't essential. An interest in technical products and the ability to learn and understand product applications is more important.
You’ll need to be:
- Confident and comfortable speaking with customers
- Good at building relationships
- Commercially aware and motivated by sales
- Organised and able to manage multiple accounts
- Positive, proactive and keen to learn
- Interested in developing your technical and sales knowledge
