Overview
Youll run the shop floor day to day. Your job is simple: keep the team productive, keep standards high, and get work out on time. Youll manage the lads properly - firm but fair - and make sure the factory runs like it should.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Productivity: Keep the team working at the right pace without constant chasing. Remove downtime, bottlenecks, and wasted movement. Make sure everyone knows what theyre doing and why.
- Plan the Day: Build a clear daily plan based on priority jobs. Allocate labour across machines and processes. Adjust quickly when things change.
- Set & Hit Targets: Set realistic but firm daily and weekly output targets. Track performance and call out when standards slip. Push for improvement without creating friction.
- Quality Control: Check work regularly, not just at the end. Take ownership of mistakes and fix root causes. Maintain consistent standards across all products.
- Problem Solving: Deal with issues as they happen - machines, materials, people. Think ahead to avoid repeat problems. Keep jobs moving, even when things go wrong.
- Team Management: Build respect with the team - not fear, not softness. Hold people accountable without losing them. Keep communication clear and direct.
- Deadlines: Work to tight install and delivery dates. Prioritise correctly when everything feels urgent. Deliver on commitments without excuses.
