About the Company

The London team works on technically challenging brownfield developments, groundwater-sensitive sites and high-profile schemes, partnering closely with developers, contractors and regulators.
The role
We are seeking an experienced Associate Geoenvironmental Consultant to take a senior leadership position within the London team.
This is a strategic role combining technical excellence, project leadership, regulatory engagement and commercial influence. You will play a key part in shaping technical delivery standards while helping drive team growth and long-term business direction.
Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership
- Lead Phase I, Phase II and remediation/verification projects.
- Oversee complex controlled waters and human health risk assessments (including QRA).
- Provide senior input on landfill, ground gas and vapour risk assessments.
- Support EIA inputs (screening, scoping and technical chapters).
- Review and sign off high-quality technical reports.
Regulatory & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as technical lead in discussions with regulators and key stakeholders.
- Develop clear, robust strategies for technically complex or sensitive sites.
Leadership & Strategy
- Mentor and develop consultants and graduates.
- Deliver internal training and contribute to technical best practice.
- Influence business strategy and operational decision-making.
- Support recruitment and growth of the London team.
Commercial
- Support proposal preparation, scope writing and fee estimates.
- Build and maintain senior client relationships.
- Identify and develop repeat and cross-disciplinary opportunities.
About You
- Significant consultancy experience in contaminated land / geoenvironmental engineering (typically 10+ years).
- Strong background leading technically complex urban redevelopment projects.
- Confident engaging with regulators and senior client stakeholders.
- Chartered (or working towards) in a relevant discipline (CEnv / CGeol / CEng or equivalent).
- Strong technical review capability and commercial awareness.
Desirable:
- SoBRA accreditation.
- CL:AIRE DoWCoP / QP experience.
- Experience with landfill, gas risk and groundwater assessment.
