An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer to join a leading specialist ground engineering contractor. This role is suited to a geotechnical engineer with strong technical design capability who is looking to work on complex foundation, retaining-wall, basement, ground-improvement and underground-engineering projects.
You will support the design and delivery of specialist geotechnical solutions from tender stage through to construction, working closely with design managers, project teams, site engineers, clients and external consultants. The position offers exposure to technically challenging schemes, practical construction input and the opportunity to develop within one of the UK's most respected specialist ground engineering environments.

As Geotechnical Design Engineer, you will be involved in the design, analysis and technical coordination of specialist ground engineering projects. You will prepare calculations, design reports, drawings, specifications and technical submissions while supporting both tender-stage and live project delivery.
The role will require close collaboration with construction teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, safe and aligned with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities - Geotechnical Design
- Prepare geotechnical designs for specialist ground engineering projects
- Undertake calculations for foundations, retaining walls, embedded walls and temporary works
- Support the design of piling, diaphragm walls, secant piled walls, contiguous piled walls and ground-retention systems
- Assist with designs for basements, deep excavations, ground improvement and slope stability
- Develop practical and buildable solutions
