The Role

You will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of geotechnical and contaminated land projects from initial site investigation through to reporting and client sign-off. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, supervising and managing ground investigations
  • Logging soil and rock in accordance with BS5930 and EC7
  • Interpreting geotechnical and geoenvironmental data
  • Preparing Phase I and Phase II reports
  • Undertaking geotechnical assessments (foundations, earthworks, slope stability)
  • Contaminated land risk assessments and remediation strategy input
  • Managing budgets, programmes, and subcontractors
  • Liaising directly with clients, regulators, and contractors
  • Mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical development

Candidate Profile

  • Degree qualified in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years' relevant consultancy experience
  • Strong knowledge of UK ground investigation practice and reporting standards
  • Experience in both geotechnical and contaminated land projects desirable
  • Commercial awareness and client-facing experience
  • Full UK driving licence
