Due to an increase in workload, our client is currently recruiting a project manager/senior Geologist with 5 years + experience, to be based within their geotechnical division at their West Midlands office. It’s an exciting opportunity with our client, the UK’s market-leading provider of site investigation services. As their new Project Manager/Senior Geologist, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering ground investigation and geotechnical services to a diverse range of clients across the UK.

Responsibilities:
  • Permanent role with a growing, dynamic team
  • Opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including Rail, Highways, Commercial Developments, and Energy Projects
  • Excellent awareness of ground investigation specifications, procedures, techniques, British Standards, and codes of practice
  • Ability to plan, supervise, and programme multiple Ground Investigation projects, including £1M+ sized projects
  • Responsibility and accountability for the financial control and technical quality of projects from award to completion
  • Development and maintenance of existing and new business in conjunction with the Operations Manager
  • Training of new and existing staff in all matters of site investigation, in conjunction with the Operations Manager
Qualifications:
  • 5/10 years of Project Management experience or similar Ground Investigation experience of a minimum of 5 years
  • Our client would prefer the candidate to have a B-Eng and BSc in Engineering Geology, Environmental and Geo-Environmental along with an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering.
Required Skills:
  • Excellent awareness of ground investigation specifications, procedures, techniques, British Standards, and codes of practice
  • Ability to plan, supervise, and programme multiple Ground Investigation projects
Preferred Skills:
  • Our client requires an ideal candidate who must have a previously broad range of knowledge and skills involving site investigations, ground investigations, sampling, drilling and testing along with remediation, regeneration including contaminated land assessments.
  • In situ testing, borehole sampling and logging and knowledge of log trial pits would also be preferred.
