About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geologist to join a respected consultancy with a strong reputation in ground investigation and engineering services. Working across a varied project portfolio, you will play a key role delivering and managing site investigation and geotechnical projects from tender through to interpretation and reporting. This role would suit a geologist with a minimum of 5 years' relevant industry experience looking to take ownership of projects, support junior team members and contribute technically within a growing business.
Responsibilities
- Planning and managing ground investigation projects
- Supervising site works including drilling, logging and sampling
- Factual and interpretative reporting
- Ground modelling and geotechnical assessment
- Foundation recommendations and earthworks input
- Supporting contaminated land and geoenvironmental assessments
- Liaising with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Mentoring junior engineers and geologists
- Contributing to technical delivery and project management
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering geology / geotechnical investigation
- Degree in Geology or Geotechnics or MSc Environmental Science
Required Skills
- Experience managing and delivering site investigation projects
- Strong soil and rock logging and interpretative reporting skills
- Knowledge of geotechnical risk assessment and design principles
- Client-facing and project management experience
- Chartered status or working toward chartership desirable
Preferred Skills
- Experience supervising ground investigations and site works
- Knowledge of contaminated land and geo-environmental assessments
- Proficiency in AGS data, geotechnical software or slope stability tools
- Experience mentoring junior engineers/geologists within project teams
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to undertake site visits
