As a Project Manager / Senior Geologist, you will take a leading role in the delivery of ground investigation and geotechnical services across a broad portfolio of projects. You'll manage technically complex schemes while supporting the development of teams and contributing to continued business growth. This role offers exposure to a wide variety of sectors, including Rail, Highways, Commercial Developments, and Energy projects, within a growing and highly collaborative team environment.

The Role

  • Manage and deliver multiple ground investigation projects from award through to completion
  • Take full responsibility for technical quality, financial performance, and programme delivery, including projects valued at £1m+
  • Plan, supervise, and programme ground investigation works in line with relevant standards and best practice
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to develop and maintain existing client relationships and new business opportunities
  • Support the training, mentoring, and development of new and existing staff
  • Ensure compliance with British Standards, industry specifications, and health & safety requirements

About You

  • Strong knowledge of ground investigation specifications, procedures, techniques, British Standards, and codes of practice
  • Proven experience managing multiple ground investigation projects simultaneously
  • Commercially aware, with a track record of managing project budgets and quality
  • Confident communicator with the ability to lead teams and engage with clients

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • 5–10 years' experience in Project Management or a similar role
  • Minimum 5 years' hands-on ground investigation experience
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Working towards (or holding) professional chartership
