Bridgestone Group are seeking a skilled and reliable Workshop Technician to join a busy and well-established workshop operation. You will play a key role in maintaining and repairing a fleet of light commercial vehicles, with additional exposure to plant and agricultural machinery. The role suits someone who takes pride in high-quality workmanship, safety, and teamwork.
Key Duties
- Service, inspect, diagnose and repair LCVs and light commercial vehicles in line with manufacturer and DVSA standards
- Carry out mechanical and electrical diagnostics and complete repairs efficiently and accurately
- Maintain accurate job cards, service records and compliance documentation
- Support repairs and maintenance on plant and agricultural machinery as required
- Conduct annual thorough inspections, with an appreciation of industry regulations and provisions
- Provide prompt and reliable on-site breakdown support across Wales and into England when required
- Maintain a safe, tidy and efficient workshop environment
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards, in line with health & safety guidelines, company procedures and agreed timeframes
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider workshop and site support team
Skills & Experience Required
- Level 3 Light Vehicle qualification or equivalent (NVQ / City & Guilds / IMI)
- Proven experience as a mechanic or technician within construction plant maintenance or similar environments
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems; knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems would be advantageous
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload and time effectively
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Full UK driving licence
