Bridgestone Group are pleased to be working with a leading provider of water network services who are looking for a Trunk Main Leakage Team Leader to support field operations across Central and North Wales. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a leadership role within a vital and growing sector, contributing to the reduction of water loss, protection of the environment, and improved resilience for local communities.
The Role
You will lead a specialist team focused on trunk main leakage detection and operational delivery. Acting as the key point of contact for field staff, including Acoustic Logging Coordinators and Logging Inspectors, you’ll ensure the efficient execution of leakage identification, reporting, and resolution activities. The role combines people leadership, operational coordination, safety management, and performance analysis. You’ll work largely outdoors and must be comfortable travelling across the region, adapting to weather and operational demands.
Key Duties
- Act as first-line support for field teams working on trunk main leakage activities
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of 8–10 field-based colleagues
- Oversee Risk Assessments, Health & Safety Management, and compliance with safe systems of work
- Analyse Health & Safety performance and drive continuous improvement
- Deliver monthly toolbox talks, safety alerts, and quarterly inspections
- Ensure adherence to all technical procedures and quality management systems
- Produce accurate daily and weekly operational status reports
- Analyse team performance, address trends, and support ongoing improvement
- Assist field staff with identifying and prioritising leakage jobs
- Mentor, coach, and train team members to enhance capability and performance
- Track and drive productivity, ensuring targets and client expectations are met
- Complete incident and accident reporting when required
- Ensure all operational work is completed accurately, efficiently, and safely
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety, with the ability to implement and reinforce safe working practices
- Proven people leadership skills with experience motivating and managing field teams
- Excellent customer service ethos and ability to meet strict operational targets
- Strong IT literacy, including confidence with Microsoft Office
- Ability to interpret performance data and drive improvements
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of utilities or water distribution operations is highly beneficial
- Flexibility to work nights or overtime when required
- Full UK Driving Licence
