Bridgestaff Group are currently recruiting for experienced Welders and Fabricators to join a busy and growing structural steel workshop in the Pontypool area. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled individuals with strong fabrication expertise and experience in MAG and Flux-Cored welding.
The Role
You will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of structural steel components, working from technical drawings and contributing to a high-volume production environment. This position requires a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate structural steel components to specification
- Carry out all-position welding using MAG (135/136) and FCAW processes
- Read and interpret detailed engineering and fabrication drawings
- Safely operate workshop machinery and tools
- Ensure all work meets required quality and industry standards
- Work effectively as part of a production team
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven background in structural steel fabrication
- Strong experience in MAG (135/136) welding
- Competence in Flux-Cored (FCAW) welding
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- High attention to detail with consistent quality of work
- Minimum 2 years’ welding/fabrication experience preferred
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Overhead crane licence
- Forklift experience
- Experience within a heavy/structural steel environment
