Bridgestaff Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Water Project Manager on behalf of a growing civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering key projects within the water and utilities sector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of work across water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects, offering long-term career progression and the opportunity to play a key role in major framework delivery.

The Role

As Water Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the successful delivery of projects from inception through to completion, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You'll lead project teams, manage client relationships, oversee commercial performance, and ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all phases of water and utility infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and risk registers.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with client requirements and contract obligations.
  • Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Drive excellent health, safety, environmental, and quality performance across all projects.
  • Chair project meetings and provide regular progress reports.
  • Manage procurement and resource allocation.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee change control, project variations, and commercial matters alongside the commercial team.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience managing projects within the water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience delivering projects under utility or water authority frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness.
  • Proficient in project planning software such as MS Project or Primavera.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
