About the Company

Our client is a well-established, family-run business with a strong reputation across the South West. They are now looking to expand their local driver team and are seeking reliable and enthusiastic HGV Class 2 Drivers to join the business.

The Role

As an HGV Class 2 Tipper Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of an 8-wheel tipper vehicle, carrying out deliveries and collections across Gloucester and the surrounding areas. The role is primarily local and built-up area driving, rather than long-distance motorway work.

Typical duties will include:

  • Operating an HGV Class 2 8-wheel tipper vehicle safely and responsibly.
  • Transporting aggregates, soils, recycled materials, muck away and other construction or waste-related materials.
  • Completing approximately 6–8 loads per day, depending on operational requirements.
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects or safety concerns.
  • Ensuring loads are transported and tipped safely and in accordance with site requirements.
  • Using a PDA to upload and record completed work.
  • Maintaining accurate delivery and operational records.
  • Following all Drivers’ Hours, Working Time, tachograph and transport legislation.
  • Following company health and safety procedures and site requirements.
  • Providing professional customer service when dealing with customers, site teams and colleagues.
  • Maintaining the vehicle to a high standard and reporting any issues promptly.
