Bridgestaff Group are working in partnership with a leading construction business, and due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured projects are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Groundworks & Civils team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a progressive and expanding business, working on a diverse range of projects valued between £50,000 and £3.5 million across the South West.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial performance of projects from inception through to final account, ensuring profitability and strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all commercial aspects of projects from start through to final account.
  • Prepare applications for payment and financial reporting documentation.
  • Price, assess and manage project variations.
  • Negotiate subcontractor accounts and agree client final accounts.
  • Monitor project cash flow and retention payments.
  • Work closely with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support the commercial team in maintaining project profitability and contractual compliance.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings and project specifications.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive, proactive and team-oriented approach.
Preferred
  • Experience within Groundworks and/or Civil Engineering projects.
