Bridgestaff Group are working on behalf of a growing construction materials business to recruit a Concrete Pump Operator & Plant Operative. This is a hands-on position responsible for operating and maintaining concrete pumping equipment while supporting wider site operations when required.

This role would suit a reliable, practical individual who enjoys working on-site and can adapt to varying workload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Concrete Pump Operations
    • Operate a concrete line pump safely and efficiently in line with site and safety procedures.
    • Set up, assemble, and dismantle pipelines, hoses, and pumping systems.
    • Ensure accurate and consistent placement of concrete.
    • Monitor pours and identify blockages or operational issues.
    • Thoroughly clean pump and associated equipment after each use.
  • Vehicle & Equipment
    • Drive and position the pump vehicle safely to and from sites.
    • Complete daily vehicle and equipment checks.
    • Carry out routine maintenance and report faults promptly.
    • Maintain all equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
  • Site Coordination & Safety
    • Liaise with site teams, customers, and drivers to ensure smooth operations.
    • Follow all health & safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
    • Ensure safe setup and operation of equipment across varied site conditions.
  • Additional Duties (Plant Support)
    • Support batching plant operations when the pump is not in use.
    • Assist with loading, batching, and dispatching materials.
    • Maintain yard cleanliness and organisation.
    • Support general operational tasks as required.
About You
  • Previous experience operating a concrete pump (desirable but not essential).
  • Good understanding of construction site environments and materials.
  • Mechanically minded with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Full UK Driving Licence (HGV Class 2 preferred).
  • CPC (Driver Qualification Card).
  • CPCS or NPORS (desirable).
  • CSCS card (preferred).
