Contract Terms

Contracted to 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Paid hourly with overtime paid at an inflated rate on weekends. Travel time paid door to door. Company van provided.

Role Purpose

Covering the Thames Valley area for Thames Water, the role involves modifying control panels and telemetry equipment at various sites. This includes telemetry outstation replacements and multi‑smart systems.

Responsibilities

  • Complete electrical installations in accordance with BS 7671 and Bridges Electrical Safety Rules and Essential Standards.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety legislation and regulations are adhered to.
  • Ensure all items are installed to the highest standards, in compliance with the project\’s quality plan, inspection and test plans.
  • Follow and actively promote the STAR dynamic risk assessment and be empowered to stop work if unsafe circumstances arise.
  • Promote and demonstrate Bridges’ values when dealing with peers, staff, customers and clients.
  • Coach and mentor Electrical Improvers and Apprentices.

Requirements

  • ECS Gold Card (essential).
  • Experience with telemetry outstation replacements or MultiSmart systems.
  • Panel wiring and modifications experience.
  • Experience within industrial (ideally water) industries.
  • Fitness to work medical.
  • Always follows best practice with a positive attitude towards Health and Safety.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • PASMA / IPAF / Confined space.
  • EUSR & Thames Water Passport.
  • Inspection and testing certificate.
  • Emergency first aid or first aider.
  • CCNSG (or similar).
  • CompEx.
