As part of our Apprentice intake for 2026, we are looking to recruit a Mechanical Apprentice to work within our Delivery teams. The following opportunities are available in the following regions: 1 x Wales, 2 x South West, 3 x Southern. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the engineering industry.
The Role
As an Apprentice, you will work alongside a team of experienced engineers, assisting in mechanical installations, repairs, and maintenance across various client sites. You will receive on-the-job training and support to develop your skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering. The role is field-based, contracted to 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, paid hourly with overtime paid, and you will be compensated for travel time door to door.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in mechanical installations, repairs, and maintenance
- Learning how to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Following health and safety procedures and wearing personal protective equipment
- Communicating effectively with team members and clients
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
We do not yet have a training provider for this role; one will be sourced once a candidate is employed. The training provider will depend on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Requirements
Essential:
- Strong interest in Mechanical engineering
- Enthusiastic and motivated to learn
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- GCSEs in Maths, English and Science (grade 4/C or higher)
- Must be 18+ years old
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle required for site visits
Desirable:
- Previous work experience or education related to engineering
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in mechanical work
