As a Quantity Surveyor you are expected to provide commercial support to the Delivery Teams. This will include working with a wide variety of different contract types, mainly consisting of NEC4. The role would need to manage tight deadlines to meet both internal and external reporting periods.
This role will be based at our HQ in Midsomer Norton, but also can be based at any of our regional offices: Maidstone, Poole, Bromsgrove, Swansea. We also have shared office space in Reading and Falmer. We offer a hybrid model of 3 days in the office, 2 days at home with some flexible working. You will be expected to travel to Client sites and meetings as required. Contracted to 40hrs per week Monday to Friday.
- Review, negotiate, and finalise awarded contracts to secure a commercially advantageous position for the business.
- Responsible for the accurate and on time compilation of reporting to meet strict monthly deadlines.
- Manage invoicing for your project portfolio, ensuring applications reflect on-site progress and contractual entitlements, while maintaining a positive cost position.
- Oversee and enforce the change control process, working closely with Delivery Teams to ensure variations are captured, valued, and approved.
- Lead the agreement of project final accounts by engaging proactively with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor project expenditure with Delivery Teams, reviewing budgets and cost forecasts to ensure value for money for both the business and its customers.
- Set up client contracts and subcontract agreements promptly to ensure all stakeholders have timely access to key commercial information.
- Support procurement activities, including tender evaluations, subcontractor negotiations, and recommendations for award.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company procedures and governance, and relevant legislation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial processes and reporting tools.
- Ensuring that health, safety, and sustainability considerations are reflected in commercial decisions.
