Bridges are currently looking to hire an Electrical Design Engineer on a permanent basis. We are expanding due to growth and need a skilled EICA Design Engineer to join us. In this role, your designs will support the success and efficiency of our projects, delivering accurate and consistent designs within budgets and agreed timescales. You will have the opportunity to work across MEICA engineering works across the water industry, with projects across all 10 main water and sewage companies in England and Wales.

Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, and we act as Principal Contractor, Principal Designer, and subcontractor/off-site supplier to our clients.
The Role: We offer a hybrid model of 3 days in the office and 2 days at home, with some flexible working. This is a 40-hour contract, Monday to Friday. Two roles are available: one based in Midsomer Norton and the other in Maidstone.
Responsibilities:
- Producing electrical designs using project specifications, standard requirements, outline scopes of work, and/or site investigations
- Innovate, challenge, and pursue continuous improvement across projects and designs
- Assisting less technical team members with the specification of technical plant and machinery
- Liaison with project managers and commercial teams
- Attending sites during and after projects
- Producing and delivering technical presentations during client visits and meetings
Requirements:
- 3 years experience working in an electrical/EICA design role
- Relevant engineering qualification such as HNC, HND, or a degree (desirable)
- Experience in:
- Electrical / EICA systems design (Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Cable Calculations)
- Cable Calculation Software Experience (Trimble/Amtech)
- MEICA Schedule Generation (Load, Equipment, Instrument, Valve)
- Termination Drawings/Connection Drawings Experience
- Site general arrangement design, 2D and/or 3D
- Design project coordination
- Chemical dosing
- Water quality monitoring
- Autodesk 2D and/or 3D CAD packages (ACAD-E)
- Using Microsoft packages
